My facebook page:
a great space for sharing and caring

The happy thing about Facebook is that I was introduced to this social network by students. They told me about it and showed me how to create an account. They taught the ABCs of social networking. This shows that learning has been taking place in both directions. Prior to this, we had wonderful moments using MSN to chat in English, discuss daily issues and even explain the lessons and share exercises, links , sites and pictures. It was a great space for listening to each learner individually and know them more. It was also a platform for great pieces of advice. Learning never ends.

I have learnt from my humble experience that documenting events is as much important as organizing the events themselves. When you lack tools to do so, you keep begging others to share your videos or your pictures with you. Sometimes, it works. Sometimes, it does not. So investing some of your money in buying the necessary equipments is a great investment.  Thus, you have the raw materials at home and it is up to you to give it different forms. The latter are worthless if not uploaded and shared with others.

"A picture is worth a thousand words." Isn't it ? Enjoy the videos and kindly provide your constructive feedback.

The idea of a portfolio was introduced by Mr. Hassim Mohamed in our pedagogical meetings. I liked the idea and did my best to develop it for my own purposes. So, it is crucial to link you to his site.

The year of the portfolio. It is a great term to help us organise ourselves. Moreover, it makes us reflect on our work and achievement. In addition, compiling a portfolio necessitates the selection of the best practises and   makes easy to trace one's improvement and correct the mistakes if there are any. Furthermore, it is a crucial document to go back to to celbrate success and build on previous experiences. Similarly, having an e-portfolio means that the owner is up-to-date . Finally and most importantly, it is a tangible space for sharing and getting feedback from colleagues, trainers, supervisors and students.

Professional development

It is needless to say that if one is not moving forward, he or she is stagnating. It is very crucial to look for ways to sharpen one's talents and be updated. There is no room for out-of-date ways of thinking in this rapidly-changing world. Here comes the need for continuous professional development. The students I first taught in 1998 are not the ones I am teaching now. If I stay the same person equipped with the same old teaching techniques, the result will surely be boredom , monotony and failure. Once, one seeks to develop professionally, he or she feels enthusiastic and ready to go and create revolution inside the classroom. Face-to-face workshops and online course are clearcut examples.

It is true that "learning never ends". So keep learning to keep leading.
